Police are asking for the public’s
help in fi nding two individuals
wanted for burglarizing numerous
Maspeth residences in recent
months and getting away with a fortune
in valuables.
The suspects allegedly broke into
nine residences over a two-month
span in 2017 from Oct. 23 to Dec. 22.
In the fi rst incident, on Oct. 23, a
68-year-old female victim entered her
home near Calamus Avenue and 74th
Street at about 6 p.m. and noticed her
belongings had been disturbed. She
called the police and the subsequent
investigation determined that two perpetrators
entered the location through
a rear entrance, but no property was
stolen from the victim, police said.
The thieves’ fortunes quickly
changed, however, when a 59-yearold
female victim reported to police
on Nov. 10 at approximately 8 a.m.
that she had returned to her home
near 64th Street and 53rd Drive
and found items missing from her
residence. Aft er the subsequent investigation,
police determined that
two individuals entered through a
rear entrance and stole cash, jewelry
and electronics with an estimated total
value of $23,700.
The next four incidents also resulted
in the crooks cashing in:
• On Nov. 13, a 50-year old female
victim reported to police at approximately
9:15 a.m. that she returned
to her home near 69th Street and
53rd Avenue to fi nd her front door
open. In the subsequent investigation,
police determined that two
male individuals entered through a
window near a fi re escape and stole
cash, jewelry and electronics at an
estimated value of $11,900.
• On Nov. 26, a 29-year-old female
victim reported to police at
approximately 1:20 p.m. that she returned
to her home near 53rd Road
and 70th Street and noticed a disturbance.
The police investigation
determined that two male individuals
used an entrance in the rear of
the building and removed cash and
jewelry worth an estimated $2,500.
• On Nov. 29, a 36-year-old male
victim reported to police at approximately
3:30 p.m. that he returned
to his home near 52nd Road and 69th
Street and noticed a disturbance. In
the subsequent investigation, police
determined that two male individuals
used an entrance in the rear of
the location and stole $500 in cash.
• On Dec. 6, a 47-year-old female
victim reported to police at approximately
10:30 a.m. that she returned
to her home near Maurice Avenue
and 67th Street and noticed a disturbance.
The police investigation determined
that two male individuals
used an entrance in the rear of the
location and stole jewelry and cash
worth an estimated $11,255.
The thieves’ luck ran out in the last
three incidents. On Dec. 10, authorities
said the perpetrators entered a residence
near 53rd Road and 68th Street through
a rear entrance, and the investigation
determined that nothing was stolen.
On Dec. 18, police said the perpetrators
entered a residence near Calamus
Avenue and 70th Street using a rear entrance.
On Dec. 22 at a residence near
70th Street and 53rd Road, police said
the two males entered the residence
through a rear entrance. In both of
these cases, police said that alarms
sounded to alert the victims of the
disturbances, and the investigations
determined that nothing was stolen.
There were no injuries reported in
any of the nine incidents.
All of the incidents were reported to
the 104th Precinct.
Cops described the first suspect
as a Hispanic man who was last seen
wearing a dark striped jacket and
gray pants. The second perpetrator is
also described as a Hispanic man who
was last seen wearing a dark cap, dark
jacket, blue jeans and dark shoes.
Anyone with information in regards
to these incidents is asked to call the
NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at
