This week, the Queens Museum invites children ages 5 to 12 and their adult companions to take a look at Queens Museum artist Mierle Laderman Ukeles’ “One Year Worktime II” mural from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Symbols and color association with the change in seasons will also be explored. The Queens Museum is located at New York City Building in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. 3 A Charlie Brown Christmas @ The Secret Theatre. Enjoy a family friendly musical based on the beloved characters, Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the peanut gang. This event, from 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30 , will feature the finest performers from Jamaica, Queens, and a learning experience about the Nguzo Saba - the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa. Children ages 5 to 12 and their family members are invited from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. to create their own lamp models using the Queens Museum’s permanent Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass as inspiration. The Queens Museum is located at New York City Building in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. 6 Undissed and Very Able @ Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning. Visit a unique photography exhibition from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. featuring the work of more than 20 contributing photographers with disabilities. Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning is located at 161-04 Jamaica Avenue. 8 Saturday, Dec. 31 New Year’s Eve @ Bar 360. Ring in the new year with performances by the Front and Center Band, Tavares and France Joli starting at 9 p.m. Bar 360 is located in the Resorts World Casino at 110-00 Rockaway Blvd. 9 New Year’s Eve 2017 @ Sweet Afton. Celebrate the new year at one of Astoria’s favorite gastropubs. Purchasing a ticket will include an open bar from 9 p.m. until midnight with finger foods, specialty cocktails and a champagne toast served at midnight.
