We actually have one of the beekeepers working for me at the precinct.” Now Congressmanelect Tom Suozzi visits The Courier offi ce on the campaign trail “I’ve been successful in getting things done for the people I serve,” Suozzi said in a sit-down interview with Th e Queens Courier at our Bayside offi ce on May 13. Suozzi previously served eight years as mayor of Glen Cove before being elected Nassau County executive in 2001. His campaign came to a successful close in November aft er defeating state Senator Jack Martins for the seat vacated by retiring Congressman Steve Israel. ‘The Blacklist’ fi lms season three fi nale in Bayside In the fi rst week of May, the hit NBC show “The Blacklist” took to the streets of Bayside to shoot scenes for its season three fi nale on Bell Boulevard. The stars of the popular show took over the Bayside Milk Farm Inc., located at 35-15 Bell Blvd., on the afternoon of May 3 to fi lm scenes inside the grocery store. That same day, actor Ryan Eggold, who plays Tom Keen on the show, came out of the grocery store and took some photos with fans waiting outside. 138 fi refi ghters respond to a house fi re in Jamaica A three-alarm fi re broke out in Jamaica on the morning of May 16. Th e fi re began inside of the home at 175-01 Liberty Ave. at about 9:20 a.m., a FDNY spokesperson said. According to the FDNY Twitter page, both the fi rst and second fl oors were on fi re. Th e fi re came under control at 10:56 a.m. aft er 138 fi remen and 33 units responded to the scene. Th ere were no reported injuries.
