The hospital honored Flushing Bank President and CEO John R. Buran as well as Hilary Lewis, clinical nurse manager, and Dr. Robert Slepoy, chair of the hospital’s Anesthesiology Department. Adam, Alison and Jack Bloom announced the birth of Zoe Campbell Brown, who came into the world at 6:01 a.m. on July 14, weighing 9 pounds, 3 ounces and measuring 20 inches Starting line at JFK hotel for ‘Tour de Force’ Bayside screening shows the ‘Price for Freedom’ One of the features on the summer-long exhibition about the History of Persian Jews at the Queensborough Community College’s Kupferberg Holocaust Center, Bayside was this week’s screening of “Price for Freedom” starring Paul Sorvino, Navid Negahban, Sally Kirkland and Mandy Bruno. The recently produced movie is based on the book by Dr. Marc Benhuri of Manhattan about how members of his family were terrorized, tortured and murdered in Iran when Ayatollah Khomeni seized power in 1979. Rosemary Sullivan Zinn, vice president of institutional Advance at QCC, is shown with Kupferberg’s executive director, Dr. Daniel Leshem, Dr. Marc Benhuri, Claire Friedlander, Family Foundation President Peter Klein, and the movie’s executive producer, Roger Cooper. Hundreds of bicyclists raised thousands of dollars for the families of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty during the annual “Tour de Force” bike ride on Sept. 11. The road race, which stretched from New York to Boston, began at the JFK Airport Hilton in Queens. The cyclists rode their way through the Hudson Valley, Connecticut and western Massachusetts before meeting up with riders from Boston for the final leg. Flushing Bank president honored by hospital
