The NYPD, which released a new sketch of the suspect on Thursday, September 5, said the man allegedly attacked six different females, ranging in age from 13 to 69, between March 2011 and late last month. The latest assault occurred around 4:30 p.m. on August 26, according to police, when the victim, a 69-year-old woman, while jogging through the park, was approached by the suspect, who tasered and pushed her to the ground before raping her. The perp is also accused of attempting to rape a 54-yearold jogger on March 25, 2011 in the park, and a 13-year-old on September 7 of the same year near Park Lane and Myrtle Avenue. Both incidents occurred in the morning. The suspect allegedly then groped a 34-year-old woman at the corner of Woodhaven Boulevard and Park Lane South around 1 p.m. on August 15, 2012. Later that year, on November 28, he also assaulted another woman. The 40-year-old victim, who was jogging with her dog, was approached by the suspect who touched her with his exposed genitalia. On March 23 of this year, the suspect allegedly struck a 23-year-old woman with a stun gun and then tried to rape her in Forest Park. A person was arrested for that sexual assault, but police later said they had the wrong man. The suspect is described as white, 30 to 40 years old, 5’9” to 5’10” tall, with light brown hair and clean shaven. He was wearing a black T-shirt and black sweat pants during the August 26 incident. Five-alarm fire in Middle Village: HOMES DESTROYED, FAMILIES DISPLACED BY LIAM LA GUERE [email protected] A massive fire in Middle Village injured more than a dozen firefighters and took down six homes. The blaze started just after 8 p.m. on Monday, September 9, according to FDNY officials, and quickly spread to five-alarms about an hour-and-a half later. Firefighters got it under control at about 10:40 p.m. Investigators are still looking into what sparked the blaze. The conflagration was so enormous nearly 200 firefighters responded to the scene and 13 received minor injuries. Three were taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, eight to Elmhurst Hospital, one to Jamaica Hospital and another was treated at the scene. There were no civilians injured, but the blaze displaced seven families. Red Cross teams met with 41 residents at the scene, and four families of eight adults and six children accepted emergency housing services at a local hotel. Some of the families also received funds for food and clothes. State Senator Joseph Addabbo said all three of his district office locations in Howard Beach, Middle Village and Rockaway Beach will collect donations for the families that lost their homes and possessions. Residents affected can call the Red Cross of Greater New York at 877-733-2767 for help if they still have not received services. Following the blaze, Addabbo said that he will introduce legislation for homeowners to apply for tax credits equivalent to reforming “cocklofts” or attics. Although the cause of the fire and how it spread is still under investigation, flames spread through attached houses usually by way of attics, according to the FDNY.
