Hosted by its founder, local poet Charles “Smooth” Williams (seated, first from right), the Open Mic featured over a dozen talented poets, writers, musicians, singers, comedians and orators, who were all enthusiastically received. The East Elmhurst Library’s Open Mic is held every month with the next one scheduled for June 2 7, 2016. Performers are asked to come prepared with five minutes of material. All levels are welcome.
