The former president and Meng touted Hillary Clinton’s plans for a booming AAPIs community while aiming to encourage Asian-American Queens residents to vote for her in next week’s Democratic primary. The crowd cheered on President Clinton as he addressed the former secretary of state’s vision for a debtfree education for all college students. “On college, Hillary believes that the most practical, workable solution that will help the largest number of Americans, is to make sure that every young person can go to college and emerge debt-free and to make sure that everybody who has debt already can pay it off over a long period of time — at no more than 10 percent of your after-tax income,” he said. President Clinton also said Hillary Former President Bill Clinton campaigned for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Clinton would work to establish equal pay in the work force and paid sick leave. “Hillary said, ‘Look, I know anger is satisfying to people but the truth is, if you want to build an economy that works, it has to be for the struggling, the striving and the successful,’” President Clinton said. “We have to have shared prosperity so that we can all rise together.” After his presentation, attendees flocked to President Clinton’s side for questions and photographs. Shirley Gilbert, president of the Northeast Queens Multicultural Democratic Club, chuckled, “I’ve always been a Bill Clinton girl.” “I was very satisfied. The economy was great. The stocks were great. Everything is downhill now,” she said, referring to the Clinton administration of the 1990s. Winnie Greco, president of the New York Sino Agricultural Sciences Organization Inc., expressed her enthusiasm toward Hillary’s campaign. “I’m very proud of Hillary Clinton for running for president of the United States and I believe that our Chinese community will vote for her,” she said.
