Franklin Villanueva, 24, was taken into custody by the Queens Warrant Squad at 6:50 a.m. on April 12 at a location on 130th Street near 15th Avenue in College Point. Villanueva, who resides on 164th Street in Flushing, was booked on attempted murder charges for allegedly stabbing two men in separate incidents in the 109th Precinct dating back to last December. The first incident occurred at 12:20 a.m. on Christmas morning, Dec. 25, 2015, in the rear of a property on Crocheron Avenue near 169th Street. Sources familiar with the investigation said Villanueva and two unidentified suspects began assaulting the 22-yearold male victim about the face. During the beating, Villanueva allegedly pulled out a knife and slashed the man across the chest, neck and arm. The victim was hospitalized after suffering severe blood loss and deep cuts, it was reported. Villanueva then brutally stabbed a 27-year-old man inside the victim’s car following an argument that took place at 1:05 a.m. on March 18 in the vicinity of Northern Boulevard between 160th and 161st streets. After a verbal confrontation with Villanueva, authorities said, the victim walked to his car and entered the driver’s seat. Before he could drive away, sources familiar with the investigation said, Villanueva smashed the driver’s side window, then stabbed and slashed the man about his chest, arm, face and hand. The victim suffered a collapsed lung and multiple lacerations requiring surgery. In executing the arrest warrant on Villanueva, police also executed a search warrant for the 130th Street location and found a cache of weapons including a Walther .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun, two imitation pistols, an imitation rifle, a Taser stun gun, a gravity knife and a machete. Detectives also recovered a box of .380-caliber bullets, nearly $1,800 in cash, an undisclosed quantity of marijuana and various drug paraphernalia. Villanueva was charged with multiple counts of seconddegree attempted murder, firstdegree gang assault, first- and second-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of marijuana, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and harassment, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
