Last year, she worked for the ARISTA Committee, but this year decided to focus on student affairs. She works with advisor Haydee Racinos and the Leadership Classes to organize events including dances, blood drives, canned food drive and UNICEF fundraisers. She also regularly attends meetings with Principal David Morrison. She hopes to attend Hunter College or City College to study opthalmology. Hillcrest kids serve the needy with food drive The Leadership Classes of the Hillcrest High School student government just completed a canned food drive, collecting 500 pounds of food that was donated to City Harvest. Advisory takeovers help Campus Magnet students learn The Benjamin Franklin High School of Finance and Information Technology in the Campus Magnet Complex in Cambria Heights began the new year with a new academic program, Advisory Takeover. Sponsored by The Future Project, a national organization aimed at helping students learn from members of their community in the classroom, the Advisory Takeover allowed students from the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity at Syracuse University to visit the school and work with students in fi ve different clases. The fraternity members shared their experiences with the teenagers and advised them on what they need to do to graduate high school and move on to college.
