The tennis club members of the Towers country Club had been unable to attend the Sept. 16th screening so we scheduled a make-up screening for the members of the tennis club, anyone who had missed the original screening and anyone who wanted to see the films again. We were so pleasantly surprised by how many people showed up! There were some members of the tennis club, of course, but there were so many people who had seen the first showing and wanted to see the films (“Reza Hassani Goes to the Mall” by Sara Zandieh, “Lambing Season” by Jeannie Donohoe, “Siren” by Jonah Bleicher, “The Louder the Better” by Michael Toscano and “Achille” by Giorgia Farina.) again and some new residents of North Shore Towers. The new people we spoke to were so happy to find “such a rich, cultural event available here at the Towers”. The comments were astute & varied. People wanted to know which film had been awarded the Audience Appreciation Award. That film was “Achille” by Giorgia Farina. We’re all looking forward to presenting a retrospective of the four winners of the Audience Appreciation Award for the last two years. The films will be “Haber” by Daniel Ragussis, “Comfortable Distance” by James Bang, “Achille” by Giorgia Farina and “Hirosaki Players” by Jeff Sousa. The retrospective will take place sometime in January. We will keep you posted. See you at the SFF@NST. Maralyn Chriss
