Al t h o u g h contemporary in timing, the series is told in traditional English mystery style, complete with a Cast of Characters and room layouts, and chapter epigrams that relate to some aspect of each chapter. In “The Scarlet Wench”, these quotations are lines from Noel Coward’s play “Blithe Spirit” and led to his estate requesting a copy of the book for their archives. Graff will discuss the books, the challenges of setting a novel in a foreign country, and describe the process that goes into writing each mystery. Several scenes from the books will be read by Marilyn and Marni to give the audience the flavor of the series. A question and answer period will entertain audience queries. A handout will give attendees a listing of other crime authors to pursue for their reading pleasure. It promises to be an informative and fun evening. author
