Club will meet on
Wednesday, May
22 at 2:00 p.m. in the
Coleridge Lounge in the
Building #3 Arcade. The
discussion of “Waking
Lions” by noted Israeli
author Ayelet Gundar
Goshen will be led by
Bern Rosenthal and Arlene
Augenbraun.
In this intriguing novel, set in the desert
city of Beersheba, Israel. The author, a
trained psychologist, deftly deals with issues
of guilt, shame, ambition and desire. The
reader is exposed to the timely problems of
illegal immigration from Africa into Israel.
This suspenseful thriller features a unique
cast of characters, headed by a disgruntled,
brilliant Israeli neurosurgeon and a forceful,
exotic Eritrean woman.

Honorable Gary Ackerman
The Political Action Committee
Wednesday, May 22, at 2 p.m.
Coleridge Lounge,
in the Arcade of Building #3
(PAC), under the
leadership of Felice Hannah,
is pleased to present an evening of
conversation and discussion with
veteran office holder Gary Ackerman
on Wednesday, April 3, at 7:30
p.m. in Towers on the Green.
Lauded for his bold leadership,
Ackerman was elected to the US
Congress 15 times and served
as congressional delegate to the
United Nations. With his extensive
national and international experience,
Ackerman has a unique
global perspective of events and
the global political climate. He’s
met world leaders, helped shape
The Mideast policy, crossed the
DMZ line in his travels to North
Korea, and formed missions to feed
starving people of Ethiopia and the
Sudan.
Performing public service with
passion and courage for many
decades, Ackerman lived on a
houseboat, called “Unsinkable,”
during his tenure in Washington.
Under the chairmanship of Vicki
Mazel, this PAC program is open for
all residents to attend. Ackerman
will share his thoughts and views
as well as interact with residents on
important political issues.
Refreshments will be served after
the meeting.
Queens County District
Attorney Candidates Forum
FELICE HANNAH
After 28 years, a newly-elected
Queens County District
Attorney will take office
January 2020. To that end, the
Queens County Bar Association
has selected North Shore Towers
as the venue to host a forum for
candidates running for the office.
The Primary Election will be held
June 25, 2019, and the General
Election in November. This will
be the first time NST will host this
important event.
The position of Queens District
Attorney has been held by the
Honorable Richard Brown since
1991. After 28 years, Brown is
resigning on June 1, 2019.
The Forum is co-sponsored
by the Queens Bar Association
and the North Shore Towers
Political Action Committee,
Felice Hannah, Chairperson. The
Honorable Geoffrey Mazel, Esq.
Co-Chairperson Cooperative/
Condominium Law Committee
of the Queens County Bar
Association will Host the evening’s
event. Former President of
the Queens Bar Association, The
Honorable Joseph DeFelice, Esq.,
will serve as Moderator.
