Upstanders’ Drive for L.I. Safe Center
On Thursday, December 9,
Upstanders collected donations
from NST residents to
aid victims of abuse as they work
toward getting back on their feet.
The outpouring of generosity of
North Shore Towers’ residents was,
as always, impressive--so much so
that Lorraine DiFiglia of the Safe Center sent the following thank
you note:
The Safe Center is grateful to
North Shore Towers residents
and their Upstander Committee
for their generous support during
the holiday season. Volunteers
arrived last week with car loads
of toiletries, cleaning supplies
and donations to be used in our
Safe Home and for clients.These
donations will help families regain
independence during a crossroad
in their lives.
The staff here was moved by the
amount of items delivered and
appreciate the kindness of the
North Shore Towers community in
helping to keep with our mission:
To protect, assist and empower
victims of family violence and
sexual assault while challenging
and changing social systems that
tolerate and perpetuate abuse.
We look forward to working with
North Shore Towers again in the
future!
Enjoy the season,
Lorraine DiFiglia

Safe Center
