Summer is in full swing and so is
LIC Flea & Food. Every Saturday
and Sunday, a carefully curated
mix of artisan, vintage, global food
and drink options presents itself to a
curious audience.
In addition, LIC Flea hosts special
events every month! Next up is the Inter-national
Beer & Food Weekend August
12 and 13. You can RSVP for free to
enjoy crafts and foods from around the
world. Enjoy beers from Asia to Europe,
a diverse range of international food and,
of course, you can stroll around the flea
and shop at your favorite global vendors.
Aficionados of unique and hand-crafted
jewelry have several great op-tions,
one of them being De Pana Madre.
Inspired by their Venezuelan heritage,
their pieces are handcrafted and de-signed
uniquely to give the consumer
an exclusive piece of jewelry at an af-fordable
price. From playful to chiq, from
colorful to plain golden, De Pana Madre
has a lot offer.
A resident favorite is Dutch Kills
Klotheing, representing one of the
fastest changing neighborhoods in
Long Island City. Operating their own
local screen printing company, they
offer flea go-ers cool tees, tanks and
hoodies inspired by, & made, in Long
Island City. They also offer a range of
hip vintage accessories. Quality fabrics,
locally inspired and produced, mixing
old with new; Dutch Kills Klotheing is a
must-check-out for every LIC resident.
There are plenty of exciting and deli-cious
food options, as well. For fans of
savory food, there’s Butcher Bar. They
smoke their meat right on site, serving
up juicy and tender ‘cue. It’s best enjoyed
in the adjacent beer garden with a local
craft beer. For the more curious foodies,
Coney Shack offers mouthwatering
Southeast Asian inspired tacos. If you
want something light for the hot sum-mer
days try Don Ceviche’s fresh take
on the classic staple.
Looking ahead, on Sept. 16 and
17 there will be the first Queens BBQ
Smokedown & Brew Fest. A ticket will
get you unlimited beer tasting and a
barbecue plate. Use our special code
“LICMAG” for a 15% discount!
