giant moving to LIC

Altice USA, one of the country’s larg-est
service providers, will move its
headquarters from Long Island to
Long Island City at the end of the year,
Crain’s first reported.
Currently, headquarters are located
in Bethpage, L.I but the company will
move “several hundred employees” to
Queens, a spokesperson told Crain’s.
But sources have told the publication
that the company is looking to move to
One Court Square.
Lisa Anselmo, a spokesperson for
the company, said they have noti-fied

employees about the move but
are not ready to release the exact
location.
The 50-story Citigroup building is
owned by Savanna and is currently the
tallest building in Queens, though that
could change very soon. Corporate em-ployees
for Altice USA working in Man-hattan
and Long Island will move to the
Queens location. The Bethpage location
will turn into an operations center with
the addition of a News 12 studio, ac-cording
to Long Island Business News.
Though most of the building is used
by Citigroup, the New York City Depart-ment
of Health and Mental Hygiene also
rents out two floors. At a real estate
forum in March, Andrew Kurd, direc-tor
at Savanna said he was not sure
if Citigroup would stay at the building
past its lease, which expires in 2020.
Altice USA owns Optimum, Sud-denLink,
Lightpath, AMS and News 12
Networks. It serves more than 4.9 mil-lion
residential and business customers
across 21 states. The company recently
announced it was planning to go public
and is estimated to be worth $1.35 billion.
