For the second time this year, Queens
restaurants are offering great deals as
part of NYC Restaurant Week, which
starts on July 24.
Organized by NYC & Company,
New York City’s official destination
marketing organization, more than
375 restaurants in 41 neighborhoods
are participating. Each restaurant of-fers
three-course prix-fixe lunches
for $29 and three-course prix-fixe
dinners for $42.
MP Taverna in Astoria, a “modern
interpretation of a traditional Greek tav-ern,”
according to its website, is located
at 31-29 Ditmars Blvd. Appetizers at the
restaurant include Cypriot lamb sausage,
barrel-aged feta and Grandma’s Greek
Meatballs. It is not clear what the prix
fixe lunch and dinner menus will include
specifically for Restaurant Week.
Maiella at 46-10 Center Blvd. in
Long Island City is another Italian res-taurant
participating. Diners will choose
from three first course options like
gamberoni alla griglia and burratina
maiella and four entree options such
as gnocchi al tartufo estivo and filetto
di branzino al forno . The dessert op-tions
include torta alla meringa and
panna cotta alla Nutella and gelato
al ciocolato.
Meet the Meat, a steakhouse at 23-
92 21st St. in Astoria, is offering a prix
fixe dinner from Monday through Friday
and Sunday. Appetizers include crab
cakes, sauteed mussels, mixed green
salad and more. For entrees, diners can
choose from a New York strip steak, filet
mignon, lamb chops, salmon or chicken
breast. The restaurant is also offering
cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake
or tiramisu for dessert.
Oro, an Italian restaurant that
opened in Long Island City in August
2016, is also participating in Res-taurant
Week. The prix-fixe dinner
is offered Monday through Friday at
41-17 Crescent St.
