 Wellness event brings  
 Bronxites dance and chili 
 Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson, 
  the soon-to-be borough president, 
  hosted a community health  
 and wellness event at Mulally  
 Park  with  Amida  Care  on  Oct.  
 20. Attendees took a Zumba class,  
 learned to cook pumpkin turkey  
 chili and discussed the importance  
 of spiritual, emotional and  
 physical health.

 The Bharati Foundation and Councilman Rafael Salamanca, Jr., hosted a  
 breast cancer awareness and Halloween event in front of 1216 Noble Ave., on  
 Oct. 30. Breast cancer survivors Filomena Orpilla, Marie Peltier and Loretta  
 Masterson were honored with a City Council Citation from Salamanca. Members  
 of the community enjoyed a DJ, food and treats, and had access to a fl u shot  
 station, COVID-19 vaccine truck and book and backpack giveaways.
