Adolfo Carrión, Jr. has joined the
board of directors for the Hispanic
Chamber Fund, which has established
and administers a loan program
for the sole purpose of making
low-cost capital available to members
of the Hispanic business community
in order to support their business
growth and expansion needs.
A former New York city council
member, Carrión served as Borough
President for seven years, until he
was appointed as the fi rst director
of the White House Offi ce of Urban
Affairs Policy by President Barak
Obama. In that role, he established
the White House Urban Policy Working
Group and launched the fi rst interagency
review in three decades of
the federal government’s engagement
with urban areas. He subsequently
returned to New York to serve as the
New York and New Jersey Regional
Administrator for the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development.
After leaving government service,
he founded Metro Futures, LLC,
a consulting and real estate fi rm.
“I am pleased to join an organization
whose mission it is to provide
entrepreneurs in underserved communities
with the opportunity to create
and grow their own businesses,”
said Carrión. “I have dedicated my
career to ensuring that all those who
want to succeed are given the tools to
do it. Helping the Hispanic Chamber
Fund in this endeavor is yet another
chance to do just that.”
Launched earlier this year, the
Hispanic Chamber Fund is a collaboration
between a group of prominent
Hispanic business leaders and World
Business Lenders, a national alternative
business lender. World Business
Lenders, serving as advisor, co-sponsor
and servicer, has lent start-up fi -
nancing to the loan program, while
working to secure commitments
from other sponsors, and offering
on-the-job training for loan program
representatives. World Business
Lenders contributes, at cost, its existing
infrastructure to support the
implementation and execution of the
program.
“Providing economic opportunities
to those who need it most has
been the mission of the Hispanic
Chamber Fund since its launch,”
said Doug Naidus, founder and chief

is partnering with us to help even
more entrepreneurs build and grow
their businesses.”
“As we work to expand our mission
regionally and nationally, Adolfo’s
background will be even more invaluable,”
said HCF chairman Carlos
Medina. “Latino entrepreneurs who
want to grow the economy in their
communities will have even more opportunity
thanks to our Fund.”
