pull out the win. The offense
stand outs this week were
Madelyn Perrino with two
goals, Julianna Mosca with
a goal and an assist and Nico
Markic with an assist. Nicholas
and Aiden Camino, along
with Dominic Ventolla, Nicolette
Donovan, Layla Alcalde
and Gabriel Deleon played
both offense and defense extremely
well, leading to the 4
- 0 victory.
MINORS
This week Global Container
had their toughest challenge
to date against Dr. Ken
Gonoud. They started the
game missing a few players
which left them with no substitutions.
The half ended in
a tie, with a lone goal from Irvin
Ruiz. The missing players
showed for the 2nd half which
gave the midfi elders some
much needed rest. They came
out extremely strong, with
two goals from Rich Guarnieri,
one Goal and one assist
from Frankie Mosca, and an
assist from Ryan Kiely. Grace
Abraham, Alyssa Esposito,
Mallory Ventola, all played
a strong defensive midfi eld.
While Sean Kiely and Lauren
Esposito kept the ball on the
offense side of the fi eld. Goalie
Conner Guarnieri had multiple
diving saves throughout
the game holding them to zero
in the second half. Final score
4 - 1, Global Container for the
win.
Dr. Ken Gonoud Team
took the fi eld against Global
Container. Offensively, the
Gonoud’s were led by Justin
Bell, Donato Marrone, Giuliana
Valenza and Mckenna
Delatore. Global Container is
the fi rst place team in their division
and they showed it by
quickly opening up the score
in the very fi rst minutes of the
half. The young Gonoud’s tied
the score when striker Justin
Bell netted a strong kick behind
the net to make the score
1-1. Midfi elders Jacob Melendez,
Victoria Mineiro, Eric
Vega , Kendall Marshall and
Isabella Mullonphy assisted
in moving the ball up to the
offensive front. .Defensively,
Dr. Gonoud provided a solid
stance. Led by Annabella Delatore,
the defense made several
plays that kept Global
Container off the score board.
Eve Searles, Eric Isabell Rosado,
Vanessa Mulliqi, Edona
Mulliqi, and Madison Rodriguez
added to the defensive
scheme in the game. First Year
Goalie, Victor Rivera made
several outstanding stops but
the offensive front of Global
Container was too much to
contain. The fi nal score was
4-1 Global. The Gonoud’s had
several offensive opportunities
but just could not execute
on some open netters to
tie. Great effort by everyone,
Coach is very proud to see the
development of the team.
St. Benedict’s got back
on track on a hot September
morning with a 4-3 win over
Kaseman Chiropractic. This
was a nail-biting back and
forth battle between two hungry
teams. James Addario
was on fi re scoring a hat-trick
and barely missing on a few
other opportunities. Joseph
Balbona played exceptional
on offense, scoring the fourth
goal and assisting on another.
Once again, Daniel Shack,
Chloe Cruz, Angelina Rodriguez,
and Viviana Romeo
created a bunch of chances
up front with some great ball
movement. Also contributing
were Leannah Murphy-Arias,
Daniela Marciano, and Quinn
Brogan. Another great team
effort!
BOYS MAJORS
Bronxville Auto met up
against P. Hegarty Builders
in a morning matinee. Bronxville’s
offensive front were
lead by Aaron Diaz, Jayden
Piparo, Brian Jurado, and
Matteo Marrone. It was a
close game where both defenses
where committed on
not allowing a score. Bronxville’s,
Max Wiehler opened
up the score by netting a quick
goal and making the score 1-0.
Both offenses were aggressive
and P. Hegarty took advantage
of a miscue which ended the
fi rst half in a 1-1 score. Both
teams kept being aggressive
on the offensive side but both
defenses were up to the challenge.
Defensively, Christopher
Flanagan, Ernest Beam,
Jeremiah Caimares, Frankie
Monti and Dylan Almestica secured
the defensive side of the
fi eld by not allowing a strong
offense to strike. Midfi elders,
Finn Wiehler, Max Wiehler,
Daniel Lopez, Giuseppe Mineiro,
Mario Noka pressured
and moved the ball in a nice
aggressive offensive front.
Goalie Geo Rodriguez made
several stops, high and low,
and secured a solid 1-1 tie for
Bronxville Auto. Next up for

GIRLS MAJORS
Capital Shield Insurance
started out in the fi rst ten
minutes with an own goal, in
confusion to which side she
was on, by new forward Allison
Conde. But the girls continued
play against Michael
Anthony Hair with plenty of
time to get back on track. The
team played on and a goal
was scored by midfi elder Jade
Haney to tie the game. Defensive
players, Angelica Rubino,
Adriana Carbajal, Nina Karampimperis
kept the shield
while offensive players kept
pressing until Sia Karampimperis
scored a goal to take the
lead. In the second half, Emily
Gutierrez, Emmie Rodrigz,
Camila Loyo and Neomi Gonzalez
kept a hold on the midfi
eld as Daniella Mosca did
a fantastic assist to Jessica
Dineen, to score a third goal.
That didn’t stop Michael Anthony
Hair from pressing back
and getting a goal, making the
game fi lled with non stop action.
Until the last few minutes
of the game when Capital
Shield let their guard down
thinking they had it, when a
second goal went in on goalie
Charlize Apunte from a great
kick outside the box which hit
the rocky dirt in front of the
net and went just out of reach,
right in the corner of the net.
Ending the game a minute
later with a tie of 3-3.
