Building Skills. Last year,
Building Skills fi lled 235 construction
related jobs, with
Bronx residents making up
over 40 percent of workers
placed. Galvez previously
worked on WHEDco and BFC
Partners’ Bronx Commons
development on East 162nd
Street.

CELIA CRUZ CONCERT AT WOODLAWN CEMETERY
A recent concert series paid tribute to the late singer Celia Cruz. The three-day event featured music by Cruz and other classic Latin artists and was held
in Woodlawn Cemetery, where the Cuban singer is buried.

COFFEE & CONVERSATION LEGISLATIVE BREAKFAST
On Friday, September 27, the Bronx Chamber of Commerce hosted fi rst annual ’Coffee & Conversation’ legislative breakfast. The event gave those in attendance
the opportunity to meet and connect with city and state elected offi cials. Former Deputy Borough President Aurelia Greene moderated the event.
