 LIONS FOOTBALL TEAM 
 Councilman Mark Gjonaj was proud to support the Lehman  
 High  School  Campus  Lions  Football  Team who  are  the  undefeated  
 champions  and  pride  of  the  community.  Lehman  
 High School Campus Lions Football Team are preparing for  
 the 2019 season.

 On Tuesday, September 3, Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernandez announced $20,000 in state funding towards Stand Up to  
 Violence, an organization that works within the Bronx by targeting high risk individuals with outreach workers who act as  
 mentors and provide alternatives to violence.

 PARKCHESTER COMMUNITY RECREATION HOSTS MUSIC IN THE OVAL SALSA NIGHT 
 Parkchester Community Recreation & Outreach hosted Music in the Oval Salsa Night with Orquesta Dulzura on Tuesday, August 27.

 BUS SERVICE 
 Amid urgent negotiations with state offi cials over planned improvements  
 to Bronx bus service, a coalition of bus riders and  
 transit advocates called on Governor Cuomo on Wednesday,  
 September 4 to provide new spending on vastly improved bus  
 frequency, balanced bus stop spacing, optimized routes, and  
 new bus routes to poorly served neighborhoods that have become  
 major destinations for bus riders.
