After completing a production
class at BronxNet, Peter
Solano began producing Life
on Life Terms, a show that focuses
on community issues
and mental wellness.
Production training at
BronxNet made it possible for
Mary Vin Rose to produce her
popular show Healthy Living
in the Bronx, which highlights
people and organizations who
promote a healthier lifestyle.
After producing and hosting
Women and Power and
Clergy Corner for several
years, Peggy Smalls recently
launched a third show, Health
and Wellness with Peggy
Smalls, where she demonstrates
how viewers can get
moving to stay fi t.
“BronxNet is dedicated to
providing the media training,
technology, studios, programs,
platforms, and channels that
can help advocates, organizations,
and you, raise awareness
about health and other
important issues throughout
the Bronx, and around the
world,” said BronxNet executive
director Michael Max
Knobbe.
Solano named his show after
the community-based organization
Life on Life Terms.
The organization offers support
groups, events and other
services to individuals dealing
with mental wellness issues.
“Life on Life Terms has
been provided a great opportunity
to use BronxNet studios
to record our vision for
mental health awareness and
wellness. BronxNet’s assistance
in helping us produce
our program is exemplary and
the presence of camaraderie is
heartfelt,” said Peter.
Healthy Living in the
Bronx has featured a wide
range of topics including how
to heal from an abusive relationship,
demystifying acupuncture,
and why our relationship
with food matters.
“BronxNet studio production
training allowed me to
turn my idea for a wellness
show centered around millennials
of color into a reality,”
said Mary Vin Rose. “My instructor
and classmates gave
me encouragement and I could
not have done it without my
team members Edison Fortich
and Trevor McDaniel,” she
added.
