who is deaf and currently 5 years old.
“I took him to Gantry Park Dog Run and
met other families that had Frenchies,”
Simmons said. “We started meeting in the
park every week for a play date, taking
pictures of the puppies having fun. From
week to week our group grew, and I realized
I needed a platform to share these pictures
and more information about our meetups.”
Since then, Simmons has adopted another
deaf Frenchie (Leeloo, currently 4 years old),
“because one Frenchie is never enough.”
The LIC Frenchie community is special
because “we all share the love for the
squishy faced pups. We absolutely
cannot resist them,” Simmons said. “That
love brought all of us together, and from
random people that meet in the park, we
became a family. We do events together,
spend holidays with each other and stick
together through highs and lows.”
