Western Queens is full of creative souls, from musicians to
dancers to visual artists to comedians. This month, we’re
highlighting readers’ Instagrams of the rich arts world of
Astoria, Long Island City and Sunnyside. Kids ages 3 through
fifth grade (as well as a family act) showed off their skills at
a P.S. 234 talent show, while @raina_rainbow_art celebrated
her artwork being displayed at Mom’s Kitchen & Bar. One cutie rocked
face paint, while NYC Made Market featured a henna tattoo by Natalia Z.
that locals could get at Okabaloo in Astoria. There were dancers at Sol
Dance Center, a band at Irish Whiskey Bar, the marquee at The Creek
and The Cave and more. Here are some of our favorite submissions.
