Eileen and Ronnie, the owners of Bobb Howard’s General Store, are a
couple of baby boomers who grew up on Long Island playing everything
from hopscotch and hide-and-seek to hit the penny and spin the bottle. It’s
these childhood memories that inspired Eileen and Ronnie to create Bob
Howard’s General Store, attached to the family auto repair shop Eileen’s
parents opened back on Columbus Day in 1946. Customers often comment
on the unique combination of the two businesses – for Eileen and Ronnie, it
is a natural extension of the things they love. The dynamic duo was able to
take their passion for old cars as well as enjoying collecting old coin-operated
gumball machines, old toys and vintage games and turn it into a business.
