Flying is open for business
States are ready for you
Many U.S. states are on the Governor’s Travel
Advisory list.This means that travelers have to
ll out a health form when arriving into NY from
these areas and must quarantine for 14 days.
I get it, but what about all the other states?
There are many wonderful states that are open
for vacation, enjoyment and discovery if you feel
comfortable to y.
Airlines at Newark, LaGuardia and JFK
are ready to y passengers with the utmost
protection, safety and care against illnesses.
In addition The Port Authority and terminals
are working together to provide a safe and
comfortable travel experience.
States open for travel from NY include Oregon,
Wyoming, Colorado, South Dakota, Michigan,
Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire,
Connecticut and New Jersey.
Why aren’t these states promoting themselves
to our tri-state consumers for travel?

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)
is scheduled to begin in mid Sepember, but
likely in a virtual seetting. Gone this year are
th3 hndre3ds of diloomat, staff and aircfat that
come to JFK and bfi ng a good economic shot in
the arm.This is another blow to our peer-to-peer
personal inte3ractions but a loss for many small
vendors and hote3ls that service this event.

Un-CARES Act
Congress fails to reach new CARES Act
program as of August 13.
The current CARES bene ts expire on
September 30th. Many of the companies in
aviation including airports and Port Authority, as
well as unemployed and furloughed people are
anxiously awaiting new funding. Without this,
so many of our community will be in dire straits.
Let hope that our elected of cials come upwith
a bene t plan for all who work our airports as
we bering the resumption of ights and services
toour travelling public.
Heads Up
Department of Health requiring health forms from
travelers from states with high positive Covid numbers.
Face masks are required at the airport for entire entire
journey from entering terminals, at gates, on aircraft
and upon destination. Bring, and wear you mask.

Real ID-Due to circumstances related
to #COVID19 DH is extending the #Real
ID enforcement deadline to 10/1/2021.
At that time, travelers 18 years or older
will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s
license, state-issued enhanced driver’s
license, or acceptable form of ID.

Passenger volume went from 2500 a day
in March to about 17,000 a day in July.
Look for many new fl ights to begin
in August after safety measures have
been ut in place in terminals, aircraft
and restrooms.

Global Entry
The Global Entry and Trusted Traveler programs,
Resumption of Services-Port & Stakeholder Messaging
JFK Airport management continues
with its “Resumption of Services and inning

every two weeks for the stakeholders
at JFK Airport. This is hosted by the Aviation
Department in response to the Covid19
crisis.
The Port continues to coordinate with
its partners with consistency through
these meeting. Immediate implementations
include deployment of terminal signage.

Suspended Flights to Cuba
Michael R. Pompeo Secretary of State announced
on August 13 the he requested that the Department
of Transportation suspend private charter
fl ights to all Cuban airports, including Havana.
This action will suspend all charter fl ights between
the United States and Cuba over which
the Department of Transportation exercises jurisdiction,
except for authorized public charter
fl ights to and from Havana and other authorized
private charter fl ights for emergency medical
purposes, search and rescue, and other travel
deemed in the interest of the United States.

The Meeting of the Republic Airport Commission,
which was scheduled for Tuesday, August
4th, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. in the Airport’s Main Terminal
