It's all about the attitude and dedication of people and camaraderie of the JFK Airway
crew working to keep the airport engine running behind the scene.
Every day thousands of men and
women take the subway, or bus or
Airtrain to one of the Port Authority
airports in metro New York.
Many of thee workers earn minimum
wage, many have second jobs,
many have relatives taking care of
their children while they work and
many hope for a better life.
These are the people you rarely
see while travelling. They are below
the wings cleaning, fueling ,
moving cargo, running back-offi -
ices, servicing the aircraft and directing
the planes safely around
the tarmac.
These are the tight groups of individuals
who work together exposing
themselves to bad weather and
now, even worse, the coronavirus.
The virus has impacted some of
these people and their companies,
but most are dedicated and eager to
get back to work and contribute to
the successful and safe operations
at the airports.
When air travel climbs back
these people will continue to be of
essential service.
