Culinary Noodle Kitchen
Th e Culinary Noodle Kitchen has a
unique menu of international dishes to
off er hungry customers. Th e restaurant
boasts a variety of noodles, including gluten
free, wheat or rice-based, and seeks
to satisfy diff erent tastes with spicy dishes
like their Ode to Szechuan Shrimp, as
well as beef and vegetarian choices. Th eir
noodles and dumplings are inspired by
diff erent cultures around the world that
the restaurant’s manager, Mario Martinez,
feels is much needed in the area.
“It’s the idea of off ering something different
that’s noodle-based,” Martinez
said. “Th ere’s also no dumpling or noodle
restaurants in the area that are specifi cally
designed to make international dishes.”

Hamido Seafood
Hamido Seafood is a Mediterranean
restaurant and fi sh market that serves the
neighborhood’s demand for fresh seafood.
Th e owners of the restaurant make
it a point to personally frequent the fi sh
market and off er seafood that is quality,
aff ordable and in season. Customers can
purchase the fi sh raw and take it home or
have the restaurant to cook it for them.
Patrons may also dine in and enjoy a fresh
and aff ordable meal on site. One of the
restaurant’s partners, Ramy, explains the
key to the restaurant’s growing popularity.
“Because of the fact that we don’t charge
that much, the turnover is unbelievably
fast,” Ramy said. “So this way, the fi sh is
always fresh, the price is right and everybody’s
happy.”

Lokanta
Lokanta serves traditional Turkish cuisine
in an ornately decorated restaurant
with walls covered in images of lush
greenery and tables set with metallic gold
cutlery. Th e menu consists of soups, small
plates and main courses. Th e restaurant’s
owner, Orhan Yegen, is a chef who also
owns SipSak, located in Manhattan.
“I make sure that every time I open
a restaurant, I add new things to educate
guests,” Yegen said. “You have to
teach them, to make them taste the good
things. Maybe they’re not going to love it,
but they’re going to get used to it. Th ey’re
going to learn.”
