If you cannot attend, but wish to comment, you may send an email or write your comment to the above address. 106TH PRECINCT HOWARD BEACH, OZONE PARK, RICHMOND HILL COPS RESCUE KITTEN STUCK IN SEWER FOR 6 HOURS This adorable South Ozone Park kitten found himself in a pickle last week after he got stuck in a sewer drain. The trouble occurred on June 8 at the intersection of 122nd Place and Sutter Avenue, where a kitten was blown over by a gardener’s leaf blower right into a sewer and was stuck there for almost six hours. Luckily, no case is too small for police officers from the 106th Precinct. With the assistance of the Emergency Service Unit and Field Rescue Supervisor from Animal Care Centers of NYC, Kevin Sexton, they carefully fished out the scared creature from the drain. The 106th Precinct tweeted a picture of the kitten at about 3:53 p.m. on June 8, with the hashtag #ItsWhatWeDo. According to Animal Care Centers of NYC, the kitten was named Sam A1076666, and is approximately 9 weeks old. He is currently on the straywait at their Brooklyn Care Center, and interested adopters should email adoptionatnycacc.org. Glendale man dies in LIC accident A 53-year-old man died on June 13 after his vehicle was struck by a truck in Long Island City, police said. On June 13 at about 7:58 p.m., police responded to a call of a car crash between a four-door sedan and a truck at 37th Street and Review Avenue in Long Island City. Officers found Bruce E. Lanzer, of 76th Street in Glendale, in his car with trauma to his body. Lanzer was transported to Elmhurst Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A police investigation found that a 26-year-old man was driving the truck westbound on Review Avenue when he hit the car driven by Lanzer. The investigation found that Lanzer had failed to stop at a stop sign on 37th Street. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing. COPS FIND STASH OF GUNS & DRUGS AT HOUSING PROJECT Three people were arrested at the Pomonok Houses in Flushing on the morning of June 10 after police discovered a cache of weapons and numerous narcotics while raiding an apartment, it was announced. Members of the NYPD Public Service Area 9, under the direction of Sergeant William Larkin and Detective Raymond Hill, executed a courtauthorized search of the residence of Malik Ince, 26, and Marquis Ince, 23, on Parsons Boulevard near 65th Avenue at 6:40 a.m. on June 10. Reportedly, Larkin and Hill obtained information that led to the raid as part of an ongoing investigation into narcotics activity in the area. Both Inces, whose relationship was not disclosed by the NYPD, and Alexcia Frazer, 22, of Elmira Avenue in Jamaica, were at the residence when police arrived at the location. During the raid, police recovered numerous weapons including a loaded Kurz .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun, a Mosberg shotgun, a loaded Smith and Wesson .32-caliber revolver, a Taser stun gun and boxes of ammunition. Detectives also found 81 Xanax pills, a razor with cocaine dust, two digital scales with cocaine and marijuana residue and various drug packaging materials. Eight cellphones and $506 in cash were also recovered at the scene. The Inces and Frazer were each charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
