Laurelton
Florida woman dies in car crash
Police are investigating a crash in
Laurelton that left a Florida woman dead
early Monday morning.
According to police, offi cers from the
105th Precinct responded to a 911 call
at 5:51 a.m. on Feb. 18 regarding a vehicle
collision at the intersection of North
Conduit Avenue and 230th Place. Upon
their arrival, offi cers discovered that a
2012 Toyota Camry had struck a pillar at
the location.
Inside the car, offi cers found 57-yearold
Doreen Hall-Smith of Miami, Fla.,
unconscious and unresponsive, with trauma
about her body.
A preliminary investigation by the
NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation
Squad found that Hall-Smith was driving
the car westbound on North Conduit
Avenue when she lost control and struck
the pillar.
EMS responded to the scene and transported
Hall-Smith to Jamaica Hospital,
where she was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were immediately
reported and the investigation is ongoing.

Woodside
Subway creep exposes
self to girl
Police released on Tuesday night images
of a man accused of exposing himself to
a 9-year-old girl and rubbing up against
her while riding the 7 train in Woodside
last week.
Law enforcement sources said the
attack occurred at about 2:45 p.m. on Feb.
14 on board a Manhattan-bound 7 train
heading toward the 52nd Street station.
Authorities said the perpetrator
approached the young girl and exposed
his genitals at her. He then pressed his
body against the girl before fl eeing the
train car in an unknown direction.
Th e attack was reported to the 108th
Precinct and NYPD Transit Bureau 20.
Cops described the suspect as a black
man believed to be 30 years of age, standing
6 feet tall and weighing about 200
pounds, with dreadlocks.

Flushing
Camera captures moment
of deadly shooting
Police have released surveillance video
of the suspect involved in an early morning
shooting last week in Flushing that left
a Long Island City man dead.
On Feb. 13, police released video of the
suspect taken prior to the Feb. 12 incident
in front of a metal works store in the area
of 131st Street and Fowler Avenue.
Th e video shows the suspect walking
on the street at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday
morning. He encounters the victim, who
is approaching a van that has pulled up,
the suspect appears to pull out a fi rearm
and runs toward the victim.
Th e video cuts off before the trigger is
pulled.
Offi cers from the 109th Precinct
responded to a 911 call regarding the
shooting and found 31-year-old Xin Gu
with multiple gunshot wounds to his head
and body.
EMS responded to the scene and took
Gu to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens
hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police described the shooter as a man
wearing a dark face mask and all dark
clothing.

Rego Park
Armed thieves ambush
woman on street
Th ree men are wanted in connection
to a robbery in Rego Park over the weekend
and police are asking for the public’s
assistance in identifying the individuals.
On Saturday, Feb. 16 at 9:30 p.m.,
police from the 112th Precinct received
a robbery report in the vicinity of Eliot
Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard.
Authorities reported that a 57-year-old
woman was exiting her vehicle when
she was approached by
three unidentifi ed men,
one of whom who had
a gun and demanded
her property.
Th e woman allegedly
gave up her purse
which contained a cell
phone, an unknown
amount of cash and
an identifi cation card.
Cops reported that the
thieves fl ed on foot
toward Woodhaven
Boulevard and the
woman was uninjured
following the event.
Police describe the suspects as black
men in their late teens or early 20s.
Th ey were last seen wearing dark clothing,
as seen in an accompanying surveillance
video.
