Cardozo ekes out victory over Construction

game against Queens High School for
Construction in Ozone Park.

Th e Judges’ clinched the 65-62 victory
thanks to a strong third quarter, when
they outscored Construction 23-14 to
take a 48-44 lead into the fi nal quarter.
Neither team pulled away in the fi rst
quarter, with Construction taking a onepoint
lead into the second, when the Red
Hawks went on a run and put together a
fi ve-point advantage to take a 30-25 lead
into the half.
Cardozo bounced back with its strong
third quarter before sealing the deal in
the fourth.
Taj Anderson led the Judges with a
whopping 34 points — including 14 from
the charity stripe. Jamal Watson added 11
for Cardozo.
