RA Flyers compete in Marty Enright Sectional

BWG teams travel to North Carolina
for Academy Showcase
Over the weekend of Oct. 28, the
Blau Weiss Gottschee (BWG)
2005 and 2004 Academy
teams traveled to North Carolina to
compete in the United States Soccer
Federation (USSF) Developmental
Academy Showcase where each team
played in three extremely competitive
games.
THE 2005 ACADEMY
RESULTS WERE AS
FOLLOWS:
• BWG lost to Arlington, 1-2;
• BWG was shutout against Bethesda,
0-4; and
• BWG defeated Loudound by a score
of 2-1.
THE 2004 ACADEMY
RESULTS WERE AS
FOLLOWS:
• BWG dropped the game against
UFA 0-2;
• BWG tied with Arlington 1-1; and
• BWG lost to ISL FC 1-4.

The St. Margaret’s/Resurrection
Ascension Flyers competed in
the Marty Enright Sectional on
Sunday, Oct. 22, and many runners
came away with medals.
Receiving gold medals were bantam
girls Aileen Mitarotonda, Olaia
Higgins, Penelope Bevan, Eve Foynes
and Madeline Mauceri.
Bronze medals were awarded to
senior boys Victor Ostling, Christian
Audelo and Joshua Jazmin. Also
bringing home the bronze for third
place were junior boys Christian Audrin,
Ricky Hubert and Sean Walsh.
The last group of runners to
receive bronze medals was bantam
boys Matthew Gordon, Sebastian
Audrin, Unai Higgins, Stephen
Honan, Brian Honan, Frank Santoro,
Robert Wetherall, Kevin Isca and
Anthony Pedicini.
Receiving fourth place medals
were novice girls Caroline Gordon,
Anastasia Denze and Olivia Santoro.
Winning medals for fi ft h place were
novice boys Gavin Walsh, Finn
Healing, Ethan Joseph, John Fusco
and Jacob Jazmin.
Senior girl Isabelle Audrin also
medaled at the event.
The Flyers coaches would also like
to congratulate the peewees on being
awarded ribbons for their race. The
peewees who earned ribbons are
Emily Pedicini, Isabella Joseph, Dia
Healing, Makaya Singh, Savanna Conroy,
James Gordon, Luke Mantel, Dylan
Isca, Jaiden Maxine, Emiliano Dandrea,
Alexander Roa and Justin Feliciano.
