Glendale charity throws fi rst pitch
with Brooklyn Cyclones
The Glendale-based nonprofit
Play4Autism recently took to
the mound at a Brooklyn Cyclones
game to deal out the fi rst pitch.
On Aug. 15, the group was the charity
partner for the game between the Cyclones
and the Vermont Lake Monsters at
MCU Park in Coney Island. The ceremonial
first pitch was thrown by Ethan, an autistic
boy who is supported by the charity.
Ethan was joined by his mother
Tiesha, Play4Autism founder Greg
Vasicek, and Cyclones personalities
‘King Arthur’ and ‘Pee Wee Seagull.’
According to Vasicek, more than 40
families and supporters of the charity
from the Glendale area were able to attend
the game and enjoy the festivities.
The same night, the Cyclones also
gave away bobbleheads of the MLB
Network’s morning show crew, and
the kids of Play4Autism got to meet the
hosts: Robert Flores, Mark DeRosa and
Lauren Shehadi.
The Cyclones then beat the Monsters,
4-1.
