Thursday, May 26 Entertainment - The premiere of recitation, movement, and music that is composed in response to Testimony: The United States 1885-1915, Testimonium will feature the band Joan of Arc. The show will start at 8 p.m. and will be at the Knockdown Center, 59-50 54th St., Maspeth. Admission is $20 and the show will go until the 28th. Education – The Ridgewood library will be hosting a class that will teach you the skills necessary to navigating the Internet. Although it will be an introductory class, basic mouse and keyboarding skills will be recommended. Education – Stop by the Maspeth library where professional musician Tony Genovese will be hosting a hands-on drum and percussion workshop. Friday, May 27 Fun & Games – Children ages 12 and under are invited to the Ridgewood library to watch a funny animated film, “Shaun the Sheep” (2015, PG). The screening will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and will be at 20-12 Madison St, Ridgewood. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Saturday, May 28 Arts - The Lorimoto Art Gallery will be showcasing art and furniture in a former knitting factory from 1 to 6 p.m. at 1623 Hancock St., Ridgewood. Culture – The Forest Hills library will be celebrating Military Appreciation month and National Asian Pacific American Heritage month. Come by to document and share the history of the Asian American community in Queens. Active, retired, and reservists from the military are also welcome. Bring your memorabilia. The Queens Memory Take the edge off of your busy life by learning how to meditate. Meditation-Path to Emotional Freedom is a four-week program that begins on Thursday, May 26. This four-session program will help to better enrich your life by bringing in the practice of meditation. Cat enthusiasts, crafters, activists, and rescuers are invited to celebrate their love of cats while supporting the local TNR and rescue cat adoption efforts. The event will be from 12 to 5 pm. And will be at 603 Bushwick Ave. Brooklyn. Monday, May 30 Entertainment – CATCH, a Brooklyn-based series of performance events will host an event at the Knockdown Center. More than 20 performance artists will entertain with Grillmaster Cee’s barbecue cook-off that includes unlimited free hot dogs. The event will be from 3 – 9 p.m. and will be at 59-50 54th St., Maspeth. Tuesday, May 31 Fun & Games – Stop by the Glendale library to build some amazing Lego creations. Children are invited to come and test out their creative minds. The fun will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and will be at 78-60 73 Place Glendale. Wednesday, June 1 Entertainment – The Queens Tavern will be hosting an event called SOUND VISION which will primarily feature music videos.
