Time has not lessened the pain that we feel on your on you leaving. Everyday some thing or other trivial matter happens and we remember something about you; what you said, how you looked, or something that only we would appreciate. There’s been some trials and tribulations in all of our lives, as you can see, looking down at us, from above. Each one of us tries to keep the family unit together. Sometime it can be quite a chore. But, with forgiveness, on all our parts, we keep it all together. The Matriarch of the Smith family, Aunt Flo, is doing well, considering her age, 88 years old. She says she still misses her girlfriend Joannie and her brother Gene. Oh, and say hello to her mother and father. The Matriarch of the Northrop family, Aunt Patricia, is also doing well. She passes on her salutations to Joannie and Gene. Oh, and said to say hello to your mother and dad and to all your brothers and sisters, from her. She will see all of you, but not yet. A native of Fajardo, Puerto Rico, she was the wife of the late Peter, devoted mother of Esther Carazo, Beverly Rivera, Peter Robles and Samuel Robles and dear sister of Irma Garcia, Rubin Garcia, Miguel Garcia and Antonia Garcia. She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village. +++ IVO BOGDANOVIC died on Tuesday, January 17, at the age of 80. BERNARD died on Monday, January 16, at the age of 63. Rest in Peace, until we are all together one day, LOVING and MISSING YOU ALL, your Daughter, Sister and Wife, Patricia, (Nuna) WACLAW KOLODZIEJEK died on Tuesday, January 17, at the age of 94, just a few days shy of his 95th birthday. As a Polish Catholic Holocaust survivor and one of the earliest prisoners deported into Auschwitz, he suff ered and survived fi ve years of Nazi-forced labor, starvation, medical experimentation and torture; he had the number 2254 tattooed on his chest. He was condemned to die at Auschwitz, but was liberated before the sentence was carried out. Later, he contributed to the eff orts of the Polish-American Congress to fi ght misrepresentation of Polish Catholics during World War II and to educate the public that Poles were a primary victim of Nazi persecution, as 3,000,000 Christian Poles were murdered. He was awarded the Krzyz Oswiecimski (the Auschwitz Cross) by then-President Lech Walesa of Poland. Kolodziejek is survived by daughters Patricia Kolodziejek and Carol Kolodziejek-Garcia and grandchildren Philip and Andrew. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. A Mass of Christian Burial was off ered on Friday, January 20, at St. Matthias Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, PA, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.
