These seniors are the members of Metropolitan Expeditionary’s first graduating class, having begun there as sixth-graders in 2010. Serving children from grades six through 12, the school rigorously prepares the students for college and engages students in hands-on learning both inside and outside the classroom, participating in fieldwork with civic leaders, industry figures and environmental scientists. The first College March took place in 2012 and has spread throughout the city ever since. It serves symbolic of the opportunity each New York City student has, regardless of their background, to pursue a college education. Most of the participating students are the first members of their families to apply to college; some speak English as a second language. Specifically, the Metropolitan Expeditionary Learning School has a diverse student body with over 20 percent of their students requiring individual educational plans (IEP) to meet their needs. Approximately 95 percent of the school’s junior and senior classes are on track to graduate within four years. 2015 Borough Cup Champs REG I ST RATION Registration January 4th-February 20th Monday 7-8 PM Saturday 12-1 PM Except January 18 Baseball for Boys and Girls Girls softball also available September 15th Starting January 4th every Monday Evening 7-8 pm Saturday afternoon 11:30 am-12:30 pm through January 25th.
