Upon arrival, officers observed 57-year-old Sangho Kim unconscious and unresponsive. EMS took him to New York Hospital Queens where he was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Horace Harding Expressway when it struck Kim, who was crossing at 188th Street. The vehicle remained on the scene. The investigation is ongoing. 109th Precinct Downtown Flushing, East Flushing, Queensboro Hill, College Point, Malba, Whitestone, Beechhurst and Bay Terrace Wallet thieves sought Police are asking for your help identifying the suspects wanted for stealing a victim’s wallet on Halloween. Cops say the perps, a male and female, removed the victim’s wallet from a piece of luggage the victim was carrying while inside A & N Food Market located at 41-79 Main Street. New law for e bikes According to the 109th Precinct, as of November 11, there is a new law regarding the possession and operation of “motorized scooters,” which includes electric bicycles or “e bikes.” Motorized scooters will be defined as “any wheeled device that has handlebars that is designed to be stood or sat upon by the operator, is powered by an electric motor or by a gasoline motor that is capable of propelling the device without human power and is not capable of being registered with the NYS DMV.” The law retains an exception for wheelchairs or other mobility aids designed for use by disabled persons. In addition, the new law also prohibits anyone from selling, leasing or renting a motorized scooter to another person in NYC, or attempting to do so. Violation of this law is punishable as a traffic infraction and also by a civil penalty of $1,000 for the first violation and $2,000 for each subsequent violation within a year. Businesses will be held liable for any penalty incurred by an employee illegally operating a scooter on behalf of the business. 111th Precinct Bayside, Douglaston, Little Neck, Auburndale, Hollis Hills, and Fresh Meadows New pic of alleged bank robber Police have released a new photo of a man who allegedly robbed a Flushing bank last month. The suspect entered the Flushing Savings Bank on Hollis Court Boulevard near Utopia Parkway on October 25, passed a demand note and fled with money, said cops. Police describe the suspect as a white male who was wearing a white hat and gray sweatshirt, and had a black backpack. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. 114th Precinct Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside and Jackson Heights Cell phone thief wanted Police are looking for the man they say pilfered a woman’s cell phone on the “F” train. On Friday, October 18, at the 21st Street and Queensbridge subway station, the suspect approached the 21-year-old female victim on the southbound “F” train as the train was discharging passengers and snatched her cell phone from her hand. He fled on foot. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident. Police say the suspect is a black man in his 20s, 5’8”, 130 pounds, and last seen wearing a purple sweatshirt and camouflage pants. LIE CRASH A 31-year-old man got out of his stalled car on the side of the Long Island Expressway on Saturday, November 16 and was struck by an oncoming car. At the time, the victim was in critical condition, according to police. He was hit on the westbound expressway at exit 29 at 8:15 p.m. The driver, a 65-year-old male, stayed at the scene after the crash, police said. 108th Precinct Long Island City, Sunnyside, Woodside Suspect sought in string of LIC burglaries Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with five Long Island City burglaries. The suspect would throw a rock through the window from an adjoining roof to gain entry and removes property, including jewelry and eyeglass frames, said cops. The burglaries took place at the following times and locations: • October 14, 7:35-8:00 p.m., 30-30 47th Avenue (8th floor) • October 23, 7:00 p.m.- 7:00 a.m., 47-00 33rd Street (2nd floor) • October 26, 1:30-2:00 p.m., 29-10 Thomson Avenue (6th floor) • November 5, 7:20 p.m.-5:00 a.m., 47-00 33rd Street (2nd floor) • November 16, 3:37 p.m.-9:00 a.m., at 30-30 47th Avenue (8th floor) Police describe the suspect as a black male in his late 40s to early 50s and bald with a medium build.
