Discount Outlet, at 28-16 21st St., sold mostly furniture and was previously a dollar store and C-Town. Demolition permits were fi led by Mahmoud A. Saab in June, and this month, the Middle Village-based owner fi led an application to construct a new building, YIMBY fi rst reported. The new building will be 45,952 square feet with 38,916 square feet reserved for 50 units and 7,036 square feet for commercial space, according to plans fi led with the Department of Buildings. A laundry room and recreation space will be located on the cellar and two retail spaces will be constructed on the ground fl oor. The apartments will be housed on fl oors two through seven. According to PropertyShark, Saab has been the owner of the building since 1991. He is enlisting Matt Markowitz Architects to design the property.
