He currently serves as President and CEO of New York Families for Autistic Children (which he and his wife, Pamela, along with four other sets of parents, founded in 1998). Andrew is also a Fellow of the American Psychotherapy Association. Andrew also serves on the Neuroscience Institute Advisory Board of New York Hospital Queens and has also obtained credentials as an Internationally Credentialed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Andrew has served as president of the Southwest Queens Rotary Club; is a past member of the Kiwanis Club of Ozone Park, past Vice President of the Ozone Park Civic Association, and past President of the Community Education Council District 27. Andrew also served as Vice New York Life Insurance Company CLF Senior Partner Al Magliano is currently a Senior Partner at New York Life Insurance Company. He has been in the insurance industry for 33 years. Al became an agent for New York Life Insurance Company in 1981. After two years, he was promoted to Sales Manager in 1983 and again promoted to Associate General Manager in 1986. In 1989 he assumed the responsibility of Managing Partner of the Vanderbilt General Offi ce in New York City. As Managing Partner, Al was the Recipient of New York Life’s President’s Trophy in 1993, which recognizes the top offi ce in New Agent Growth. Before Al went into the insurance business he was one of New York City’s fi rst Disco DJ’s, starting in 1971 and doing that for over 10 years. He still maintains involvement in the entertainment industry as a host and MC for many shows. He has introduced acts such as Gloria Gaynor, The Village People, The Trammps and many more. His aim is to keep the music alive and more importantly give these artists the recognition that many of them never received. Al is a member of the Disco DJ Hall of Fame and ranks at number 24 out of the Top 100 Disco DJ’s of all time. He is also a member of The Legends of Vinyl which is recognized by The Library of Congress. President of The Semantics and is a past Board member of the Autism Society of America. Andrew served on: Gov. David Patterson’s Task Force for Autism, was a past chairman of the Government Relations Committee to the Autism Society of America, and is a charter member of the World Autism Organization. Andrew, together with his wife Pamela, in the year 2000 founded ACES (Autism Coalition of Empire State), which represents 46 communitybased organizations throughout New York State and more than 50,000 families. Andrew also served as the chairman of the NYC Autism Task Force created by the NYC Council. Andrew has co-authored Project IMPACT, a peer-based program within a Long Island School District, and is the author of the fi rst training manual for entry-level professionals in autism entitled Working With Someone Who Has Autism. Andrew, married to Pamela, is the proud father of twin boys Andrew & Anthony, (Anthony has autism) and a daughter, Amanda. FATHER WALTER E. Jenkins, C.S.C., Ed.D. President Holy Cross High School The Rev. Walter E. Jenkins is a Roman Catholic priest and a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross, a teaching order of priests and brothers that administers fi fteen high schools, three universities and two colleges in the United States. Growing up in Binghamton, New York, Jenkins was the youngest of three children of a working class family that valued hard work, education and the practice of their religious faith. Benefi tting himself from a lifetime of Catholic schooling, Jenkins entered the Congregation of Holy Cross, founders of the University of Notre Dame, upon graduating from King’s College in 1988 with a degree in Government. Jenkins holds an advanced degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame and a Doctorate in Education from the University of San Francisco. Beyond his duties as President of Holy Cross High School in Flushing, Jenkins serves as a weekend assistant at St. Margaret’s Church, Middle Village, is a member of the Board of Directors of the historic Saint Joseph’s School for the Deaf in the Bronx, and a member of the Board of Directors of Queen of the Rosary Catholic Academy in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
