DOWLINGPresident and CEO President Kaufman Astoria Studios As president of Kaufman Astoria Studios (KAS), Hal Rosenbluth has helped to solidify the historic Studio’s reputation as one of the largest and most comprehensive studio campuses in New York City. Mr. Rosenbluth has led the executive team that has brought the glory days of Astoria Studios back while invigorating the neighborhood and diversifying the business of KAS. A 30-year veteran of KAS, Mr. Rosenbluth commenced his career with the Studio in 1980. Under his direction K/A/S Lighting was born and has grown to one of the largest inventories in New York, servicing clients on stage and on location. The diversification continued with the opening of KAS Music & Sound bringing to the studio one of the industries finest audio facilities for recording and post-production. He oversaw KAS’s expansion with the construction of Stage K, the new $22 million, 40,000-square-foot film and television production studio that opened in March of 2010. More recently Mr. Rosenbluth created the only Studio Lot on the East Coast for outdoor production and announced plans for an additional stage that will open in 2015. A graduate of the University of Florida, Mr. Rosenbluth was an advertising and marketing executive prior to joining KAS. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Long Island City Business Development Corporation, Exploring the Arts and the Queens Council of the Arts. Mr. Rosenbluth and his wife Madalyn reside in Bronxville Heights, New York. JOHN R. Buran President & CEO Flushing Bank John R. Buran is Director, President and Chief Executive Officer of Flushing Financial Corporation the holding company for Flushing Bank. He joined the company and the bank in 2001 as Chief Operating Officer and he became a Director of these entities in 2003. In 2005, he was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Flushing Savings Bank (now Flushing Bank) and Flushing Financial Corporation. Mr. Buran’s career in the banking industry began with Citibank in 1977. There, he held a variety of management positions. Mr. Buran left Citibank to become Senior Vice President, Division Head for Retail Services of NatWest Bank and later Executive Vice President of Fleet Bank’s (now Bank of America) retail branch system in New York City, Long Island, Westchester and Southern Connecticut. John also spent time as a consultant and Assistant to the President of Carver Bank. Mr. Buran has been a Director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLBNY) since 2010 and serves on their Audit and Affordable Housing Committees. He is also Chairman of the FHLBNY’s Risk Committee. John also serves on the Advisory Board and is a former Board President of Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City. He is past Chairman and current board member of the New York Bankers Association. In 2011, he was appointed to the Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council of The Federal Reserve Bank of New York. John holds a B.S. in Management and an M.B.A., both from New York University. Mr. Buran was appointed to the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority by Governor Andrew Cuomo on August 8, 2012. Michael J. Dowling is President and Chief Executive Officer of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, which delivers world-class clinical care throughout the New York metropolitan area, pioneering research at The Feinstein Institute for MedicalResearch and a visionary approach to medical education, highlighted by theHofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. North Shore-LIJ is the largest integrated healthcare system in New York State with more than 6,000 beds anda total workforce of more than 48,000 employees – the state’s largest private employer. With 17 hospitals, about 400 outpatient physician practices and a full complement of long-term care services, North Shore-LIJ is one of the nation’s largest health systems, with $7.1 billion in annual revenue. North Shore-LIJ also has its own license to sell health insurance to individuals, families and employers under the name North Shore-LIJ CareConnect Insurance Co. Inc. Prior to becoming president and CEO in 2002, Mr. Dowling was the health system’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. Before joining North Shore-LIJ in 1995, he was a senior vice president at Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Mr. Dowling served in New York State government for 12 years, including seven years as state director of Health, Education and Human Services and deputy secretary to the governor. He was also commissioner of the New York State Department of Social Services. Before his public service career, Mr. Dowling was a professor of social policy and assistant dean at the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Services, and director of the Fordham campus in Westchester County. Mr. Dowling has been honored with many awards over the years. They include: the 2012 B’nai B’rith National Healthcare Award, the 2011 Gail L. Warden Leadership Excellence Award from the National Center for Healthcare Leadership, the 2011 CEO Information Technology Award from Modern Healthcare magazine and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the National Human Relations Award from the American Jewish Committee, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, the Distinguished Public Service Award from the State University of New York’s Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, an Outstanding Public Service Award from the Mental Health Association of New York State, an Outstanding Public Service Award from the Mental Health Association of Nassau County, the Alfred E.
