HALL of FAMERS Peter M. MEYER Market President New York City TD Bank As President of the New York City market, Peter is responsible for Commercial, Small Business and Not for Profit Banking for TD Bank. Peter joined TD Bank, N.A. in 2002 to execute the bank’s aggressive expansion into the market. During this time, TD has grown to 117 retail stores and has become a major lender to small & middle market companies as well as to Not for Profits and healthcare institutions. Peter began his banking career as a teller while attending college, working his way to branch manager and later served as a commercial lender. He has held senior positions with various banks in New York City and has been instrumental in shaping loan programs and products for healthcare and nonprofit organizations, thereby providing greater access to capital for organizations delivering essential services to New Yorkers in need. A graduate of St. Joseph’s College, Peter earned his MBA from Long Island University. Peter grew up in Woodhaven, Queens and now resides in Brooklyn Heights. Active in the community, Peter is currently Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Queens Museum and is past Chairman of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. He serves on the boards of numerous other nonprofit and civic organizations, as member of the Executive Committee of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, a trustee of St. Joseph College, and board member of the York College Foundation, Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy and The American Cancer Society. Chairman and CEO The Mattone Group Joseph M. Mattone, Sr. was born on September 15, 1931, the last of nine children in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn where he lived for twenty-five years and opened his early law practice until moving to Flushing in 1978. He attended P.S. 17 in Brooklyn, Stuyvesant High School, St. John’s Prep and St. John’s College and Law School from which he graduated in five years Cum Laude. He was married in July 1956 to Irene Ficarra and has seven children. After Irene’s death from cancer, he married Mary Ann Pessolano on May 18, 1991. Mr. Mattone is currently a member of the New York State and American Bar Association, Queens County Bar Association, and Columbia Society of Real Estate Appraisers as well as a member of St. John’s University Council and a member of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association, Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and also the Knights of Malta, Eastern Lieutenancy and is the former President of the Board of Directors for Cerebral Palsy of Queens and is Past President of the American Society of the Italian Legions of Merit. He is President of the Figli di San Gennaro. Mr. Mattone is also a member of the Board of Trustees of St. John’s University. Mr. Mattone’s law office of Mattone, Mattone, Mattone, Mattone, Mattone, Megna & Todd represents twelve (12) major commercial and thrift institutions as outside counsel. Mr. Mattone has been active in philanthropic and political fund raising. In his College Point office, Mr. Mattone is surrounded by plaques and medals commemorating his many honors and achievements.
