The incident took place at 11:20 p.m. on the night of Aug. 23 in the vicinity of 33rd Street and 31st Avenue. Sources familiar with the investigation stated that the two suspects — both described as white males between 20 and 25 years of age — met with two 27-year-old males at the location for an apparent narcotics transaction. The deal apparently went sour, police said, and the two suspects then attacked the two males, punching them in the face. As the injured males attempted to flee the apartment, police said, one of the bandits stabbed an alleged drug dealer multiple times in the hand and back. Authorities said the bandits grabbed a suitcase and $800 in cash and fled the scene on foot; they were last observed heading northbound on 33rd Street. Officers from the 114th Precinct and EMS units responded to the incident. The stabbing victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. One of the suspects was last observed wearing a dark-colored, long-sleeved shirt, dark pants and dark-colored shoes; his accomplice was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt and darkcolored shorts. Anyone with information regarding the suspects’ whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, visit their website, www. nypdcrimestoppers.com, or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential. A Bayside man and two of his passengers were killed when his vehicle was involved in a pileup on the Long Island Expressway in Maspeth early in the morning of Aug. 31 that injured 11 others, authorities said. Law enforcement sources said the pileup occurred at about 4:20 a.m. on Aug. 31 on the lower level of the expressway near the Maurice Avenue exit. According to police, the massive accident was triggered by a 2010 Infiniti sedan operated by Michael Fabre, 25, of 231st Street in Oakland Gardens and traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. Authorities said Fabre suddenly lost control of the vehicle, which struck a divider with such force that the sedan split in half, police said. Part of the vehicle wound up in the left lane of the expressway, where it was struck by a 2012 Acura TL operated by a 27-year-old man in the left lane. Then, a 2015 Kenworth dump truck was unable to stop and plowed into five other vehicles near the scene of the accident. Officers from the 108th Precinct, Fire Department units and EMS units responded to the scene. The eastbound lower level of the LIE was completely shut down; with rubberneckers in the westbound lanes slowing down as they passed the accident scene, traffic was backed up in both directions during the morning rush hour. Fabre and two passengers inside the Infiniti sedan — Long Island residents Giovanny Sanchez, 24, of Brentwood and Christina Formato, 24, of Franklin Square — were pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were pulled from the car and rushed to Elmhurst Hospital; one was listed in critical condition, and the other was in stable condition. Eight additional victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of various injuries, Fire Department sources said. One driver who suffered minor injuries refused medical attention. The investigation is ongoing. A team of four robbers is wanted for holding up four different cellphone retailers across Queens this month, police announced on Aug. 31. The most recent heist occurred on Aug. 30 at 10:55 a.m. inside the Verizon Wireless store located at 253-25 Union Tpke. in Glen Oaks. Law enforcement sources said one of two bandits who entered the location displayed a handgun upon walking into the business and demanded that a 22-year-old male clerk open the store safe. The crooks removed 20 cellphones and fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. Detectives connected the duo involved in the Aug. 30 robbery to the Aug. 10 caper at the T-Mobile store located at 75-19 Parsons Blvd. in Fresh Meadows. Two unidentified suspects walked into the store at about 2:50 p.m. on Aug. 10 and forced the employees into the rear of the shop. They then removed an iPhone and $600 in cash, then fled the location inside a white Nissan Maxima. Eleven days later, authorities said, the robbery team struck again, this time holding up the Hi Point Wireless Store at 59-41 Myrtle Ave. in Ridgewood at 1:38 p.m. on Aug. 21. One of the two suspects who participated in the heist displayed a handgun and forced the employees into the rear of the business. The crooks then proceeded to remove 30 cellphones and fled the location inside a black four-door sedan, police noted. Finally, authorities said, the bandits held up the AT&T store located at 255-01 Union Tpke. in Glen Oaks at 6:38 p.m. on Aug. 25. One of two suspects involved in this caper displayed a handgun to employees. The bandits stole 29 cellphones and $309 in cash before fleeing in an unknown direction. Police described one of the suspects as a black male standing 5 foot 6 inches who was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black sneakers and blue gloves. Another perpetrator is described as a black male standing 5 foot 6 inches tall who was observed wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt covering his head and face as well as black pants, black sneakers and blue gloves. A third culprit is described as a black male standing 6 feet tall, weighing 200 pounds and wearing a black do-rag, a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white sneakers. The fourth suspect is described as a black female standing 6 feet tall, weighing 120 pounds and wearing a black do-rag and a black T-shirt. Anyone with information regarding the robbery pattern or the suspects’ whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577- TIPS, visit their website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
