SUNDAY, MAY 22 The Queens Museum will be hosting a number of performances this Sunday as part of Queens International 2016. From 2 to 4 p.m., a number of artists will be showcased including Kerry Downey, Sam Vernon, Abby Dobson and Xiaoshi Vivian Vivian Qin. There will also be a panel discussion following moderated by Kenneth White with Caitlin Cherry, T.L. Cowan, and Andrew Durbin as panelists. The Queens Museum can be found in the New York City Building of Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Forest Hills. Check out the latest in fashion during the Italian Charities of America Fashion Show at its Elmhurst headquarters. The program features an entrée and beverages. THURSDAY, MAY 26 The Queens Council on the Arts will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this Thursday with a dance party! Come commemorate the council’s founding in 1966 at this 6:30 to 8 p.m. event. Tickets are $75 and the party will be at the Long Island City Landing, a venue famous for its spectacular waterfront park set against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. Tickets can be bought online at the council’s website. Long Island City Landing is located at 5210 Center Blvd. in Long Island City. This Thursday the Knockdown Center will be launching a performance art exhibit titled “Testimonium,” as performed by the Chicagobased performance company Every House Has a Door. The exhibition is intended as a response to American Objectivist poet Charles Reznikoff’s unfi nished “Testimony: The United States 1885- 1915” and will feature recitation, movement and music.
