Egging epidemic on Whitestone cars leaves residents scrambling for answers BY BRIANA ELLIS [email protected]/@briinformed The Whitestone community hasn’t been sunny side up lately, as recent incidents of eggs being tossed on cars are a new concern for residents. “My sister’s car was egged on 14th avenue and Clintonville street sometime last night … The guy in the gas station says she’s the fourth car in there this morning with the same problem,” a member of the Facebook public group We Love Whitestone posted on Tuesday morning. QNS contacted the Exxon gas station, located at 150-65 Cross Island Pkwy., and received supporting details on the spike in egg splatters. “We had a couple of cars that came in this morning that got egged and they got washed. We washed them and they came off,” Louie Romano explained. The worker added that he only noticed a pattern of incidents on Tuesday. However, Alfredo Centola, president of the We Love Whitestone Civic Association, mentioned that the egg tossing dates back to earlier this month. “Been happening for the last two weeks. But hey, some people said ‘Let kids be kids.’ Hope they catch them,” he said, discussing the occurrences with fellow Facebook members. “Please report it to the 109 Precinct. It may not be an emergency but it is a repeated pattern that they should take into account when they address the issue,” another concerned resident suggested on the Facebook forum. QNS has contacted the 109th Precinct, which serves Whitestone, and is awaiting a response from their Community Affairs department. 32 arrested on narcotics-related charges at Electric Daisy Carnival this past weekend BY KATARINA HYBENOVA [email protected]/@kamelka Police confirmed that 32 attendees at this past weekend’s Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) near Citi Field stadium were arrested on narcotics-related charges.
