Queens Library is one of the busiest libraries in the nation, circulating over 13 million items from a 7.5 million collection annually and welcoming over 13 million visitors a year to its 62 library locations. Prior to joining the Queens Library in 2010, she served as the Queens Director of the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit and before that, as the Western Queens and Arts & Culture Editor for the Queens Chronicle. Manley was born and raised in New Hampshire and educated in Washington, D.C. and Vermont. She holds a degree in journalism & creative writing from Lyndon State College. KATHLEEN DARMSTADT Director of Finance and Rehabilitation As Director of Finance for Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, Kathleen Darmstadt leads a team of dedicated professionals in operating one of the nation’s most renowned short- and long-term rehabilitation centers for adults, which also encompasses a comprehensive network of community health programs, a leading academic campus for the training of health care professionals, and an important research center for studies related to aging. In her tenure at Parker, Darmstadt was vital in conceiving and implementing an integrated employee human resources, scheduling, attendance and payroll software system that enables Parker to manage resources at peak effi - ciency and places it at the vanguard of institutions of its kind. Darmstadt holds a master’s degree in fi nance from Hofstra University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. John’s University. She is a member of the Mineola School District Finance Committee, and a recipient of the 2008 New York State PTA Jenkins’ Award and NYS PTA Honorary Life Member, which recognizes individuals for their contributions to the welfare of children. LORI STARITA Store Manager, VP TD Bank Mother to a grown son, Lori Starita was born in Naples, Italy before immigrating to the U.S. as a child where her parents achieved the American Dream and later opened their own business, a family restaurant. She joined TD Bank, “America’s Most Convenient Bank” in 2007 with more than 20 years of banking experience In addition to banking, Starita’s entrepreneurial spirit kept her close to her restaurant roots, having also owned two successful Long Island restaurants while working full time in the fi nancial services industry. Starita manages the Auburndale Store of TD, located at Francis Lewis and Northern Boulevards in Flushing. She is currently responsible for business development, small business and consumer lending, managing personnel and day-to-day operations at the Flushing location. She also supports various local community organizations in addition to providing leading various internal TD bank initiatives. MACKENZI FARQUER Owner SITE NYC Mackenzi Farquer is the owner of SITE NYC, a colorfully-curated boutique in Astoria. SITE has been called “one of the city’s best new home decor emporiums” by Lucky Magazine and it is regularly featured in New York Magazine, Time Out New York, Everyday with Rachel Ray, and Martha Stewart Weddings. In addition to her shop duties, Farquer is a cofounder of the popular neighborhood blog www. weheartastoria.com which features news, events, and community happenings around western Queens.
