The suspect approached the female victim, 27, as she descended the stairs into the subway system, threw her to the ground, and fled on foot with her handbag.  The suspect is a black man in his 30s, 5’7”, 165 pounds, wearing all black. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. 108TH PRECINCT LIC, Sunnyside and Woodside Mosque robber sought Police are looking for a suspect wanted for a Wednesday, February 27  grand larceny inside a mosque at 57-16 37th Avenue in Woodside. According to the NYPD, at 5:20 p.m. as the 65-year-old victim prayed inside the mosque, the suspect removed her pocketbook without her knowing. The pocketbook contained cash and bank cards. There were no reported injuries. The police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. Woman killed trying to cross street A 22-year-old Maspeth woman was killed on Tuesday, March 26 as she attempted to cross Laurel Hill Boulevard at 47th Avenue. Police say the victim was in the cross walk when she was struck by a 2002 Chevy Avalanche traveling westbound on Laurel Hill Boulevard. The driver remained on scene. EMS responded to the location and took the woman to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing.  109TH PRECINCT Downtown Flushing, East Flushing, Queensboro Hill, College Point, Malba, Whitestone, Beechhurst and Bay Terrace Man wanted in stabbing Officers of the 109th Precinct are looking for a man they say is wanted in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Tuesday, March 26 at Union Street and 38th Avenue. Cops say the suspect may be driving a blue Ford Explorer. 111TH PRECINCT Bayside, Douglaston, Little Neck, Auburndale, Hollis Hills and Fresh Meadows Help find missing man The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Peter Vavilis, 80. He was last seen in the vicinity of 111 Court Street in Brooklyn on Monday, March 25. He is described as being 5’5”, 155 pounds, with short white hair.  He was last seen wearing a gray jacket. Anyone with information regarding this missing person is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.  114TH PRECINCT Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside and Jackson Heights Woman steals purse, uses victim’s cards Police are looking for a woman they say pilfered a woman’s handbag from inside the Steinway Street Mc- Donald’s on Sunday, February 3. Cops say the perp was later seen on surveillance camera using the victim’s credit card inside a Brooklyn store. 115TH PRECINCT East Elmhurst, North Corona and Jackson Heights Man critically hurt in Jackson Heights hit-and-run A pedestrian is in serious condition following a hitand run accident in Jackson Heights Monday night, March 25, said police. The 48-year-old man was struck at the intersection of 81st Street and 35th Avenue around 8 p.m. Witnesses told police he was crossing against the light when the vehicle struck him and fled the scene. Participate in local clinical trials at www.ZipTrials.us The NYPD is trying to find two suspects wanted in connection with the robberies of two gas stations in Jamaica and one in Flushing. According to police, in each incident the suspects drove to the gas station in a dark-colored minivan. The driver exited the vehicle, watched the locations and returned to the minivan. The second suspect then left the vehicle, entered the location and either displayed a black handgun or simulated having a gun under his shirt and demanded money and cigarettes from the register. On Saturday, March 16 at 5:40 a.m., one of the suspects simulated a firearm under his shirt as he robbed the Gulf Gas Station at 241-15 Hillside Avenue in Jamaica. On Tuesday, March 19 at 4 a.m. one suspect displayed a black firearm while robbing the Exxon Gas Station at 137-21 Liberty Avenue in Jamaica. On Wednesday, March 20 at 6:22 a.m. one of the suspects displayed a black handgun as he robbed the Mobil Gas Station at 133-11 Roosevelt Avenue in Flushing. Both suspects are described as Hispanic males. One suspect is 5’10” to 6’ tall, with a large build and a mustache. The second suspect is  5’7” to 5’9” tall, medium build, with facial hair, and wearing a black hooded jacket A Maryland man accused of driving the wrongway down the Van Wyck Expressway while intoxicated and hitting a van filled with teenagers has been charged with reckless endangerment and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, announced District Attorney Richard Brown. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday morning, March 24 near Northern Boulevard. During that time, 34-year-old Jose Chimbo, of Baltimore, allegedly drove his 2004 Nissan Murano head-on into a van with 13 teenage passengers who were being driven home from a party. At the scene, Chimbo allegedly told officers that he had a few drinks. Chimbo remains hospitalized with a broken leg and other injuries. The teens were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries and later released. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.
