In response to the growing community of choreographers and dance artists in Queens and a lack of a specifi c Queens borough dance festival, Dance Entropy inaugurated the Green Space Blooms Dance Festival in April 2007. Growing each year, the eighth annual Green Space Blooms will feature 28 diverse choreographers, as well as resident company Valerie Green/ Dance Entropy. The festival will take place on April 10,11,12, and 13 at 8 p.m. Admission is $15 for presale tickets, and $20 at the door. Green Space is located at 37-24 24th street, Ste. 301, LIC. SATURDAY APRIL 12 The West Hamilton Beach Volunteer Fire Dept. will be hosting a blood drive during a critical time for the NY Blood Center. SUNDAY APRIL 13 Dora, her best buddy Boots the Monkey, and the rest of their friends embark on an exciting trip to Treasure Island. Along the way, the audience will use their mapreading, counting, musical and language skills to successfully help Dora reach the treasure. All ends happily onstage with a “yo-ho-ho!” The performance runs for one hour and is followed by a meet and greet with the cast. The only thing Noguchi loved more than the promise of the future was the sense of belonging to the Earth he derived from working with million and billion year old pieces of rock. Noguchi Archaic/ Noguchi Modern explores a stylistic wormhole that seems to link the ancient past and the distant future in his work. Families with children of all ages are welcome!
