BY LIAM LA GUERE lguerre@queenscourier.com @liamlaguerre Christ the King (CK) High School boys basketball team aren’t the only members of the school winning lately. Members of the CK Speech and Debate Team recently earned spots to compete in the New York state championships from April 4-6, after a successful regular season tournament. During the tournament the team placed five finalists, including first place in the student congress debate. The team that participated in the student congress debate received the Rev. Sean Ogle Award, which is given to the top group in that category throughout Brooklyn and Queens during the season. The six students that will be representing the school during the New York state championships are freshmen Laura Jans and Shania Figueroa, sophomore Melissa Lent, and juniors Stephen Lebak, Dominik Makocki and Kevin Rodriguez.
