The gunman slipped two cans of formula into a duffel bag inside the drugstore at 89-10 Jamaca Ave. on March 14, according to police. When he was confronted by the manager, the alleged thief pointed a gun at him and fled. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477). 103rd Precinct Jamaica, Hollis Park Gardens, Hollis and Lakewood Cops: Hollis bank robbery suspects steal $3,200 Two men robbed a Hollis bank, taking off with $3,200, police said. The suspects entered the TD Bank at Hillside Avenue near 188th Street about 12:15 p.m. on March 22, demanded money from the teller and fled with the cash, according to officials. Police describe both suspects as black men, 25 to 30 years old. The first suspect is about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and the second is approximately 6 feet tall. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477). 104th Precinct Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale and Ridgewood Maspeth school employee charged for having sex with 14-year-old student An employee at a Maspeth school for special education children has been charged for engaging in sexual acts with a 14-year-old student, according to officials. The accused woman, 39-year-old Clara Somodi, was arrested about 1 a.m. on Thursday, March 20 and charged with rape, a criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of a child, police said. The sexual acts didn’t occur on school grounds, according to cops. Somodi has been a paraprofessional at the Walter Reed School, which serves special education students in K-8, for 10 years, a Department of Education (DOE) spokeswoman said. Somodi was immediately suspended without pay. The student is being provided with counseling, according to the DOE spokeswoman. 108th Precinct LIC, Sunnyside and Woodside Police find gun, drug stash in Sunnyside home Cops busted a Sunnyside man on March 19, after uncovering an arsenal of guns, ammunition and drugs in his home. As a part of an ongoing investigation, just after midnight, members of the Emergency Services and the Patrol Borough Queens North Anti-Crime units executed a search warrant at the 44th Street residence of 42-year-old Daniel Tone, police said. Inside, authorities found four loaded firearms, three imitation pistols, 169 rounds of ammunition, seven marijuana plants, approximately 17.5 grams of crack, 136 hydromorphone pills and 48 Xanax pills, the NYPD said. They also seized $3,124 in cash during the search. Tone was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of controlled substance, criminal sale of controlled substance, unlawful possession of a marijuana and violation of local law, according to police. 111th Precinct Bayside, Douglaston, Little Neck, Auburndale, Hollis Hills and Fresh Meadows Off-duty NYPD cop charged with DWI after Bayside accident An off-duty NYPD cop was arrested for drunk driving after crashing into a parked car in Bayside on Saturday, March 22, according to officials. Liam Donahue, 22, ran into an unoccupied vehicle on 40th Avenue near 217th Street about 5 a.m., authorities said. Following the fender-bender, an officer said Donahue had slurred speech, the smell of alcohol on his breath and was unsteady on his feet, according to the criminal complaint. Donahue, who, according to reports, works out of Patrol Borough Manhattan North, admitted he was driving when his Honda struck the parked car, causing extensive damage, according to court papers. He refused a blood test and was taken to North Shore-LIJ for evaluation, the complaint said 114th Precinct Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside and Jackson Heights Livery cab hits pedestrian in Astoria A 27-year-old man was critically injured when a livery cab struck him as he was crossing an Astoria intersection on Sunday, March 23, police said. The accident occurred about 12:40 a.m. at Steinway Street and 31st Avenue, the NYPD said. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center in critical condition with head trauma, according to officials. The driver remained on the scene of the accident. No criminality is suspected and, according to a preliminary investigation, the victim was crossing against the pedestrian signal, police said. The accident is still under investigation. Knife-wielding Astoria purse snatcher wanted A suspect is wanted for stealing a woman’s purse in Astoria after threatening her with a knife, police said. The 36-year-old victim was walking near 38th Street about 1:35 a.m. on March 16 when the suspect approached her from behind, cops said. He then displayed a knife and fled in a black vehicle with the woman’s purse. No injuries were reported as a result of the robbery, according to authorities.
