Testimony revealed that an employee at the Chase bank on 176-70 Union Tpke. activated a silent alarm aft er the perpetrators — identifi ed as 35-year-old Quaimme Davies of Cambria Heights and 39-year-old Edson Altino of Elmont — entered and demanded access to the bank vault at 9:11 a.m. on Jan. 28. Davies and Altino, who were armed with a .45-caliber pistol and wearing surgical scrubs, then entered the vault with four bank employees and proceeded to tie up two of the employees. Th e perpetrators demanded more money, so employees opened a teller window cash drawer and then granted the perpetrators access to the ATM room. Once inside, Davies opened the door of an ATM, activating an audible alarm, and attempted to fl ee the bank when he discovered NYPD offi cers from the 107th Precinct in the lobby. Th e total amount of cash taken by the duo totaled $133,794. Offi cers from the NYPD Crime Scene Unit remained at the scene aft er the arrests to collect evidence. Th e defendants will face federal charges. 109th Precinct College Point, Flushing, Whitestone Flushing tutor charged with sex abuse A Flushing man who works as a tutor was charged with sexually abusing a young female student on multiple occasions over the course of two years, prosecutors announced on Jan. 31. Sumate Jiemjitpolchai, 62, works as a tutor at Surpass Prep Center located at 40-59 College Point Blvd. According to criminal charges, he allegedly sexually abused a young girl at his home on multiple occasions between Sept. 1, 2004 and Nov. 6, 2006. He would touch her in a sexual manner and on one occasion, he forced the girl to touch him, according to Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown. Th e victim, who served in the United States Army, came forward to her superior offi cer and disclosed that Jiemjitpolchai had allegedly abused her as a child, eventually prompting an investigation. Jiemjitpolchai was arrested and charged with a single count of second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child. If convicted, he could spend up to seven years in prison. Brown asked that any individuals who believe that they were victimized by Jiemjitpolchai should call his Special Victims Bureau at 718-286-6505. Very busy bandit robs woman in Flushing Police have released images of a young man accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint on a Flushing street and then trying to do the same thing at a nearby convenience store just a few minutes later. According to law enforcement sources, the trouble began at 10:30 p.m. on the night of Jan. 24 in the area of Parsons Boulevard and the north side of the Horace Harding Expressway, where the suspect — described as a black male between 16 and 20 years old and standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall — approached the female victim. Authorities said the robber displayed a fi rearm and demanded the victim’s property. He then removed her cellphone and an undetermined amount of cash. Ten minutes later, police said, the crook came calling to the Full Stop Deli and Grocery located down the block at 158- 27 Horace Harding Expwy. Sources said the gunman displayed a fi rearm at an employee, but left the scene moments later empty-handed. Both incidents were reported to the 109th Precinct; there were no injuries. All calls and messages are kept confi dential. 110th Precinct Corona and Elmhurst 16 cuff ed in Elmhurst illegal casino Th eir luck has run out. Sixteen individuals accused of running an illegal casino and selling cocaine out of two buildings in Elmhurst were arrested on the night of Jan. 25 by the NYPD Queens Vice Enforcement Squad, police announced. On Jan. 25 at approximately 11 p.m., police executed a search warrant at 83-27 Broadway and 83-31 Broadway, within the confi nes of the 110th Precinct, as part of an ongoing investigation. Th e offi cers found that 16 individuals were operating an illegal gambling operation and selling cocaine out of the third and fourth fl oors of these buildings. Th e 16 individuals were arrested and police seized two jars full of cocaine, 18 gambling devices, drug paraphernalia like scales and $24,210 in cash. All of the men arrested were from Queens and were slapped with a plethora of charges including criminal possession of a controlled substance to promoting gambling. Five people were arrested at 83-27 Broadway for criminal possession of a controlled substance including Jimmy Rombano, 51, Albert Gomez, 47, Chingbiao Lin, 49, Winston Pasion, 46, and Johanna Amancio, 40. At 83-31 Broadway 11 people were arrested including Xiang Kui Lin, 52, Henry Balabat, 48, Antonio Sonny, 52, and Leo Jose, 44, for possession of a controlled substance and in some cases criminal sale of a controlled substance. Meng Zhang, 27, Zhang Ming, 25, Rong Lin, 33 and Qiang Zun Lin,41, were all charged with promoting gambling, possession of gambling receipts and possession of gambling device. Th ree men, including Qing Hua Lin, 37, Patrick Marcelo, 36, and Daniel Suriyanto, 45, were charged with criminal posession of a controlled substance, promoting gambling, possession of gambling receipts and possession of gambling device.
